The African Cultural Center provides educational, artistic and technical programs as well as opportunities and resources that incorporate the diverse cultures and history of Africa for Africans and those children and adults who are products of African Diaspora and to promote African culture to multicultural Americans.

New York is known as a world cultural center. There are about 450,000 African immigrants from the sub-saharan / Africa in the metropolitan area. The African Cultural Center acts as a link between African immigrants and Americans of all backgrounds who are interested in African culture. We serve as a resource for historic and cultural inquiry, an engine for community development while celebrating and nurturing the creative process. The ACC is a unique organization providing opportunities for people in New York City to work with people from Africa and connect through art.

The ACC is dedicated to preserving, promoting and presenting African art, history and culture through comprehensive programs and presentations in the visual arts, performing arts and through innovative educational programs for the enlightenment of all. We have many master teachers who teach a myriad of classes and many performance artists who can demonstrate their art. Our program ranges from single hour sessions to extensive artist in residency programs. We provide children and adults with the opportunity to work on African and Multicultural projects to enrich and empower their lives and provide them with a tangible work of art so that they feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
