The African Day Parade is our premier program that provides an easy, fun and educational day where all people can realize their shared history in Africa as the origin of mankind. The Parade holds an attendance of about 4000-10 0000 people of African descendants and led by African Immigrants from all countries, cultures and traditions complete with traditional costume, music, dancing. We collaborate with social services organizations available for the disregarded African immigrant community. We continue to bridge the gap amongst people of color and other interested people and serve as a middle ground for cultural pride and knowledge by using the arts
Lanye Dancing Without Shoes Program seeks to comprehensibly promote wellness through free performances throughout New York City. Lanye means “A Gathering.”
- A resource center and cultural event.
- An artist showcase& performance.
- A training calendar.
- An indigenous arts educational panel discussions.
African Artists United(AAU) seeks to dducates audiences about other unknown forms of African expression/art through the artist who practice their traditional and cultural art form.
- Promotes history and evolution of African societies through African Immigrant communities;
- Supports African Artists in performance, visual arts, sound, stage and lighting technicians, and ultimately illuminate African Arts through African Artist view point.
- Archives African artists and performers in the U.S and provides space and resources to promote themselves, their societal issues, and ACC values to further create self-sufficiency and branding.
Womens Empowerment Program is the ACC linguistic and culturally competent solution to self-sufficiency for women performers who use non-traditional forms of expression. These dance and music forms may not be documented, performed or taught in academic institutions. The Program seeks to give them tools to not only promote ethnic women in the entertainment industry but also to help them start small businesses to support themselves.
Bankhi Workspace Project, ACC looks to:
- Provide a space for African Immigrant Artists and their students complete with necessary equipment to make traditional drums, and instruments.
- Subsidize music and dance lessons for low income communities.
- Collaborate with many Dance Companies and use our own space to allow for 10 traditional and contemporary dancers and musicians to rehearse.
